This role involves advising clients over the phone, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and occasionally appearing in court. The ideal candidate should possess a J.D., an active California Bar license, and 1-2 years of attorney experience.Duties:Assist clients step-by-step through every phase of the eviction processProvide legal advice through phone consultations, assessing the facts and issues of each scenarioConduct legal research to identify and evaluate cases and legal issuesDraft legal correspondence, including letters and notices, based on client needsConduct and direct legal document preparation and review, including summons complaints and stipulationsMake remote law and motion appearancesAssist with occasional court appearances and client presentationsRequirements:J.D. from an accredited law schoolActive California Bar license1-2 years of experience as a licensed AttorneyGeneral knowledge of civil litigationStrong client service skillsAbility to work with people of all educational, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds who may have differing communication abilitiesPreferred Skills and Experience:Litigation and/or jury trial experience is a plusGeneral overview of landlord-tenant principlesSome contact with the rental housing industryBenefits: The firm offers medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, 401(k), paid vacation, and sick time.
