Quatrro Business Support Services is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/ Assistant Vice President (AVP) for our not-for-profit division. This role will provide strategic financial oversight and guidance to multiple nonprofit clients, ensuring their long-term success and compliance with relevant regulations. This role is primarily remote but will require local travel to client sites in the Chicago area. Responsibilities: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned nonprofit clients, offering expert financial advice and guidance to support their organizational objectives Conduct comprehensive financial assessments, analyzing budgets, cash flow, grant management, and financial statements to identify areas for improvement and efficiency Collaborate with clients to develop comprehensive budgets and financial forecasts aligned with their long-term goals and objectives Oversee and support the preparation and delivery of accurate, timely financial reports and presentations to key stakeholders, including finance committees and boards of directors Provide insights and recommendations based on key financial metrics, industry trends, and nonprofit best practices Ensure client compliance with all relevant financial regulations, reporting requirements, and funding sources (e.g., federal, state, and local government grants) Assess and mitigate financial risks for clients by implementing effective strategies to safeguard their financial assets and investments Serve as subject matter expert and advisor on all client-related accounting and financial matters, including, but not limited to, the Code of Federal Regulations, indirect cost rates, allocation methodologies, and accounting standard updates (ASUs). Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on nonprofit accounting matters, including the Code of Federal Regulations, indirect cost rates, allocation methodologies, and accounting standard updates (ASUs) Foster strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders at each client organization, serving as a trusted advisor and advocate Address client concerns and ensure timely resolution of issues Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting (Master's Degree preferred) Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred 10+ years of experience in the nonprofit industry, preferably in health and human service organizations, arts and culture organizations, housing, mental health, or general human service organizations 10+ years of senior accounting experience (Director of Finance/Controller/CFO/Chief Accounting Officer) Extensive federal and State of Illinois (GATA) grant administration/management experience preferred Advanced knowledge of industry-specific accounting software and advanced Excel skills Proven ability to prioritize tasks and excellent interpersonal skills Strong business acumen and ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders and C-level executives Experience in people management, creating and implementing processes and efficiencies Work experience in consulting and/or business process outsourcing (BPO) preferred Travel Requirements: This position predominantly operates remotely from a home office or local office at the employee's discretion. Travel, while unlikely, may be required at the discretion of the Company. Required travel is typically local to client sites in Greater Chicago but may require travel out of state for periods.
