Location: Huntsville, AL Schedule: Immediate Status: Full-time exempt Position Description: The System Administrator will manage technology systems, focusing on configuration management, access control, security, troubleshooting, user training, and ensuring business continuity. The candidate will support the customer in Huntsville, Alabama, and work closely with DevSecOps Engineers to assist with daily tasks and optimize systems. The System Administrator will work on systems of varying classification levels. Most work will be performed in-office with some at-home/remote work and may include time at Government facilities, integration laboratories, and/or hypersonic test facilities. Travel Responsibilities: Perform the day-to-day maintenance and patching as well as ensuring STIG compliance by monitoring, testing performance, troubleshooting systems, resolving hardware and software problems, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with other engineers on network/system optimization. Collaborate with IT, DevSecOps, and other technical team members to provide prompt support and solutions. Research new technologies and leverage optimization techniques to ensure systems operate efficiently. Assist with the management and administration of various systems and applications, including requirements management, architecture, project management, security, operating systems, data management, virtualization, networking, simulation, version control, and cloud platforms. Automate repetitive system administration tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort. Implement and maintain single sign-on and multi-factor authentication systems in accordance with guidelines and best practices. Ensure compliance with Missile Defense Agency cybersecurity and IT policies and procedures. Required Qualifications: Experience installing new or rebuilding existing servers both physical and virtual. Demonstrated experience configuring hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, and storage using Agile methodologies. Proven aptitude in maintaining DoD-approved cloud service providers (CSP) that provide information technology services and capabilities, including high-performance computing. Proven aptitude in analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving complex technical issues. Familiarization with networking technologies, including Juniper, Palo Alto, and Cisco. Experience with virtualization and infrastructure tools such as VMware vCenter, Nutanix, Veeam, NetBox, iDRAC, Dell OpenManage, and Eaton UPS. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Agile software development methodology Experience with Git configuration management Experience automating repetitive system administration tasks Experience with single sign-on and multi-factor authentication guidelines and oversight Experience with online Collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Sharepoint, JIRA) Experience with Missile Defense Agency cybersecurity and IT policies and procedures Experience with developing formal builds within the DoD industry Maintain operation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) computer systems Security Requirements: US Citizen with a current US DoD Secret Clearance or possess/meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
