Responsibilities & Qualifications What You'll Do: Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based infrastructure in AWS to support business applications and services.Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible.Ensure the security, reliability, and availability of cloud environments, implementing best practices and compliance standards.Monitor and troubleshoot cloud systems, identify performance issues, and recommend solutions for improvement.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide cloud solutions to meet their needs.Stay up to date with the latest AWS technologies and industry trends, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.Implement best practices for cloud security, identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance.Work closely with DevOps and software engineering teams to integrate cloud infrastructure seamlessly into application development and deployment processes. Work with cloud-native microservices and serverless architecture.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to cloud infrastructure, networking and application deployment.Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices in AWS.Provide exceptional service on a day-in, day-out basis to a wide variety of internal customers utilizing Texas Mutual's cloud assets. What You'll Bring: A bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, hands-on experience.At least 4 years of hands-on, direct work experience in AWS and cloud infrastructure engineering. Additional experience in Azure and/or GCP is a plus.Proven expertise in AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, ECS, EKS, Fargate, and CloudWatch. AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate) are a MAJOR plus!Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible. Certification(s) are a bonus.Strong understanding of network protocols, security best practices, and cloud architecture.Solid understanding of cloud security principles, best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g. SOC 2, NIST, GPDR).Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.Working knowledge of Agile methodologies.Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and projects.Familiarity with programming and scripting languages such as Python, C#, bash, PowerShell and Golang.Experience with cloud security best practices and their application to specific AWS services such as IAM, CloudWatch, GuardDuty, and Identity Center.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
