Position: Ministries Director (Previous Full-Time ministry is preferred) Reports to: Lead Pastor Hours: 40hrs plus Services Pay: Full-Time Salaried Job Summary The Ministries Director is responsible for directing and coordinating efforts to ensure all people from first-time visitors to leaders, are engaged in taking their next steps at The Becoming Church. They will have direct oversight and responsibility over all of the Serve Team, Next Steps, and other aspects of The Becoming Church. This includes recruiting, training, and developing leaders in addition to overseeing the health and growth of the teams and individuals involved. Developer They dont just attract people; they help them grow. From becoming contributors to becoming leaders, they equip people to do ministry. Effective Communicator Inspiring & life-giving communicator in large and small environments. Intuition to handle difficult situations and maintain discretion and confidentiality. CANDIDATE COMPETENCIES Passion for the church, the vision, people and serving in the Kingdom. Professional representation of the church and the Lord in all things. Pastoral, discerning, and confident leadership style. Commitment and investment in the well-being and success of the local church. Passion towards and eagerness to learn. Strong and growing Christian faith. Strong understanding of how to develop leaders and build teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic understanding of child and youth development. Must be a team player, with experience working in a team environment. Possesses basic knowledge of computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) Ability to learn or have experience with Pro Presenter and Planning Center. Ability to handle confidential matters discreetly and efficiently. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide pastoral care, counseling, and support to congregants, fostering a culture of compassion and connection within the church community. Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of Serve Team volunteers across various ministries within the church. Implement strategies to empower and motivate Serve Team members, ensuring a positive and fulfilling volunteer experience. Collaborate with ministry leaders to ensure effective coordination and alignment with the overall church vision. Provide guidance and support in the planning and execution of ministry events, programs, and outreach activities. Facilitate and participate in spiritual development programs, small groups, and discipleship initiatives to nurture the spiritual growth of congregants. Implement strategies to encourage a deeper connection between congregants and their faith. Oversee administrative tasks related to Serve Team coordination, including scheduling, communication, and volunteer recognition programs. Collaborate with church staff on various administrative responsibilities as needed. Recruit, train, and equip small group leaders, ensuring they are well- prepared for effective and impactful group facilitation. Implement ongoing training programs to enhance leadership skills, spiritual depth, and community-building strategies among Belong group leaders. Respond to the pastoral needs of Belong group members, offering guidance, prayer, and encouragement. Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and curate Belong group curriculum that aligns with the overall vision and teaching series of the church. Ensure that the Belong group content encourages biblical understanding, application, and community engagement. HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA As one of the fastest growing cities in the Southeastern USA, Huntsville can aptly be described as unexpected.
