Our firm is hiring an associate attorney who will support us by conducting legal research, drafting documents, maintaining client files, and assisting with legal counsel. The ideal candidate will have some courtroom experience and strong legal research and writing skills. Responsibilities: • Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice• Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals• Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff• Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings• Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients• Ability to think creatively and strategically• Exceptional organizational skills, including time management• Stay up to date on legal authorities and case law• Speak with clients to determine case assessment• Strong interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude• Admission to the California Bar• Experience in Unlawful Detainers preferred Qualifications: • Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients• Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA)• Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam • Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school• Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 yearly About Company: The Law Firm of Dennis P Block & Associates is the premier law firm for representing income property owners in Unlawful Detainer actions.
